P.A. Constitution

The Parmiter's School Parents' Association has three main objectives:

bullet

Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the School.

bullet

Engaging in activities which support the School and advance the education of the pupils.

bullet

Providing and assisting in the provision of such facilities or items for education at the School (not provided from statutory funds) as the committee shall from time to time determine

The Parents' Association is very active and totally committed to upholding these objectives and every year raises in excess of £10,000 by organising a number of fund-raising events. In addition, support is provided to the School in many other ways, including;

bulletProviding a presence at School open evenings.
bulletProviding refreshments at parents' consultation evenings, presentation evenings, concerts, and sports events.
bulletRunning a second-hand uniform shop.
bulletSubsidising a pay-phone for the use of students.
bulletAssisting in the marketing of the Thomas Parmiter Sports Centre.

 Various fund-raising events are held during the course of each year, which are designed to cater for all tastes, including dances, quiz evenings, race nights, theatre evenings and the annual craft fair.

 Parmiter's School Parents' Association's aim is to encourage and foster links between all members of the School community and to promote and encourage activities in aid of the School. For many years now, the Association's committee has worked tremendously hard to organise events which have raised money to fund numerous items in the School.

 The executive committee of the Association meets every month to organise fund-raising events and review contributions towards the School, and currently has about 40 members. If you are a parent of a current student at Parmiter's School, you are automatically a member of the Association. If you are interested in joining the executive committee, please send an email or contact the School Office for further details.
